I'm using my droid bionic in China. I tried rooting it using that oneclick root program, but I don't think it worked. Rooting is actually not my problem
I plugged in a China Telecom CDMA Sim card, and immediately received two text messages from the network. I was also able to send a text message to a friend, and he received it.
He was able to call me and I received it. But when I tried to call him, it said "no network available, emergency calls only." This is clearly bull**** as I've been texting and receiving calls.
I also haven't been able to get data to work, even though its a CDMA sim card.
Edit*** I originally planned to use the "unlock sim card" and call verizon to get the codes to unlock the phone. When I push that button, however, it says "no sim card detected, please insert a sim card".
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to be able to make phone calls and get data
