droid app to sd?

i just want to know what this is really used for. is it just for the people who are running out of space on their internal memory? also does it make the android any faster if the apps are on the external card?

Yes, D1 users use this due to limited memory for apps on the device
No, It does not make the device faster....A lil slower IMHO

My sense

folks use it to conserve internal memory. I believe accessing an app on the SD will take longer than accessing internal memory. Now, how much longer is the question. Due the the developer skills you may notice some slowness with some apps and not with others.
