Anyone that says the Droid 4 screen resolution is terrible is out of their mind. I just took off the removable plastic screen cover for the first time and I think it is very vibrant and nice. Sure, it's not SUPER AMOLED screen but who really needs the best screen resolution anyway? Unless you are watching movies and viewing pictures all the time I don't see why it's necessary to have the best screen, especially on a cell phone. Anyone else agree with me?

I had initially had alot of ghosting, but after having it since launch day it seems as though its much better. My wife has a Rezound and clearly the screen is much clearer, but I love the D4 and will be happy with it. Really has performed great, no data drops, fast as hell, good sound on calls and pretty decent battery life.

mine got better after a few days tooo..like i said in other threads i have had other displays that had a break in period

Interesting, the only nitpicking to be had between me and this phone would be the ghosting on the display. The fact that the display may appearantly "break in" over time and lose some of that ghosting is a real cool thought...

its not perfect... but....i really barely notice it anymore even when scrolling its not as bad.

I still have trouble with certain text reading from the web but I saw that when we (if we) get upgraded to Ice cream sandwich There also installing new fonts as well. (again...so they say)

It's your eyes, not the D4, that are 'breaking in'. The RGBW PenTile display is easier on the battery and easier to see in sunlight. It's also 'cost-effective'. It is NOT sharp, clear, or true in color.

New fonts will have no effect at all on the clarity of the screen.

But if you're happy with it, then -- of course -- all the rest of that doesn't matter at all.

no i have had other people who dont use my phone ever but saw it when i purcased (my wife) say it looks much better.....some of it i am sure is me getting used to though

I agree with the OP. I had the Razr and the D4 side by side at the Verizon Store and I frankly thought that the D4 screen was perfectly fine. And if anything, I was annoyed on how the Super AMOLED screen the Razr (and the Galaxy Nexus) had a blue tint to it which gets even more bluer the more I tilted the screen. The blue tint really affects anything that's supposed to be white (like the homepage of Google.com) and I frankly got annoyed looking at the Razr screen knowing how white a background should be when I saw it on the D4. The D4 use of the W in its RGBW Pentile display obviously is the main reason why it can produce a purer white than an RGB color mix. I work with professional lighting and I see this same exact "problem" with LED panels and par cans that have trouble producing a pure white using just an RGB mixing scheme as opposed to LED lights that actually have White diodes to produce a pure white light.

Confirmed on the wierd ghosting crap -- just picked mine up yesterday and the ghosting has already gone away. I find the screen to be a little too red, but otherwise very clear.
