droid 3 won't boot.

Today the phone turned off and wouldn't turn back on. When I plug the phone in the charge indicator goes from 0% to 5% to 100% within a few seconds. And I can't power the phone on

take out the battery and put it back in, then try to charge it. If that doesn't work, you may want to do a factory reset

I have tried that a bunch of times. I can't get into recovery or turn the phone on, so I don't know how I can factory reset.

Sounds like the phone got soft bricked some how, I'm not sure. If you can't charge it, buy a battery charger or take it to VZW and have them charge it.
