Droid 2 Screen turns off when held up

Whenever i have my phone on (without they keyboard slid out) and i hold it up vertically the screen turns off. So if the phone is being read and you rotate it if your are lounging or in a recliner, it will immediately turn the screen off as soon as the phone is perpendicular to the ground.

Does anyone know what is causing this and if there is a setting or solution?

I have no ability to change In Pocket Detection, that setting has disappeared from my phone so I'm thinking it something else.

Any help or input appreciated.

Might be a matter of clearing cache in recovery, as sometimes weird glitches pop up. Are you familiar with how to do that?

I googled to see if I could find similar issues and all that came up was iphone glitches :happy3:

There's an app that lets you do this. You sure a friend didn't install it on your phone as a joke?
