my parents got me the 150 mb plan, and i was wondering if downloading free apps will cost me data usage

It will use some to download but not all of them will use data once there downloaded just depends on the app

Usa today will use a little data every time you open it because it will be loading new stuff. That is where you will use data at any app that loads new stuff or updates a lot. That is the cool thing about most games tho. You can play them pretty much all you want without using data. Your best bet is going to be trying to connect to wifi whenever you can. You can also put the verizon usage widget on you home screen to monitor your usage. Hope that helps.
