I joined the forum yesterday I posted up in the X forum last night. My annual upgrade with Verizon is Wednesday... The Droid X and Droid 2 have been on my mind. I read that the X doesnt support mpeg(4) or a few other style movie formats, but the 2 pretty much does all of it. Whats the real scoop?? Any apps to correct this problem? I work construction but dont take my phone out much while on the job. Would anyone say that its durability is pretty stout; anyone have any positive/negative feedback about the phone or any hints that can be given before I purchase this phone. Help me make up my mind please! Thanks.

I've had every droid that verizon has to offer... I had the original droid when it first came out and it was an excellent phone with a solid build... there were some glitches but anything new will have some bugs... I had the X and it was a great phone but there were a few things that made me decide to goto the droid 2... the X is big... (I wear a size 13 ring) and the phone was a little too big to comfortably hold and type with one hand... the on screen keyboard is a little easier to use because of the spacing... lack of a physical keyboard.... the phones size always had it catching on something even when in my pocket (im a store manager so the keyboard for emails and the constant catching were getting annoying..) last but not least the screens on both devices are the same pixel size but because the droid 2 has a smaller screen the screen seems sharper to me... of course these are only my opinions...

I was torn between getting the DX and D2. What I was told is that both phones are pretty much similar in features (some differences but not many), what it really comes down to is the physical keyboard. Do you want that or not? The DX seems to weigh a bit less but the D2 feels a lot more solid.

I went with the D2 and couldn't be happier, after seeing my phone I've had four family members go out and get one in the last couple of weeks.
