Droid 2 Global and Droid X getting 2.3 Gingerbread

So I just got my Droid 2 Global, and I heard, from several sources, that us Droid 2 Global owners, will be lucky enough to be able to update our handsets to Android 2.3 sometime in 2011. is this true ? I heard the same about the Droid X as well.
