Droid 1 running cooler after root.

I've noticed that after i rooted my phone it runs a whole lot cooler than when it was stock. I installed a chev01 kernel. Just something I noticed and thought it was weird.

OT question but i reminded myself of these right now... I don't have the SetCPU app installed yet. Do I need this so the new Kernel kicks in and starts overclocking my phone?

Yes, your phone will run the stock speed (or closest to stock speed) that your kernel supports unless you "tell it" to run faster with something like SetCPU.
