Droid 1: Google Maps running/draining battery

Why is this happening? It's using about 5% of the battery over an 11hr period.

That's actually pretty good/normal. If you get drain, its because satellites take lots of power and so does 3g, both which you are using.

but I'm not using Google Maps so GPS is not on. That was the question. What/why is it using the battery?
