I downloaded the update to the system 2.3.15 (US) and now I have no working Android Market icon.
I tried pulling the battery and then starting up the Droid X again but to no avail.
No Market Icon that works.....I does appear but as a blue icon and not like the regular one.
When I tap it, it reads that it is not downloaded. Help please...I need market.

You have to perform a factory reset - it is a known issue

You need to do a factory data reset in Settings > Privacy to get the market back.

Doing a factory reset loses ALL data....what does that mean? Please help. I don't want to lose everything that is on my phone.

It will put it back to "out of box" condition. Contacts and apps will come back after signing into your Gmail. SD card contents are untouched.

Are all the photos/videos lost?
I am wishing I never did this upgrade. I would have thought it a good thing...not so any more.

No ma'am, they're stored to your SD card. :)
