downloaded 1.82 utility

Even after downloading orbits downloaded it still took nearly 4hrs to download 1.82 utility. Just checking but is there a bunch if orange cones in file after unzipped I hope I got it right

I also don't think it should have taken 4 hours. You downloaded to your desktop, right? Not your phone?

Yea downloaded to my laptop I will add pictures when I get off work it'll be after 1am hope this is right files

Maybe not as many cones I thought but does theses files look good for me to be able to root my razr maxx with no problems im unsure what I do after I hook my maxx to laptop I've looked for step by step guide but it really dont say even op doesn't have all the steps I need lol I mite be wrong thanks for y'all's help

The file is fine. The cones are because the VLC media player you have installed recognizes those files as compatible with the program so it takes over rights. Mine does the same. Click on them and vlc will open.

So i shouldn't have a problem rooting my Maxx? Im nervous i never had any trouble rooting or flashing roms on my droid x. This is an awesome phone i dont wanna mess it up. Has anyone recently rooted there Maxx without problems . Ive tried foxfi and it dont work for nothing it made me download pdnet app to uae with it but still wont work. When i get it rooted what app or how will i tether i used my X for tethering to my laptop plus ps3 and never once had a problem

I'm not sure I've ever heard of anyone running into problems while rooting. I mean, they may have had trouble with the process, but they didn't damage their phone or anything like that. Just follow instructions carefully.

I've been using PDANet to USB tether since I had a DX and while I've had the occasional hiccup it has overall worked exceptionally well.

I paid for the app $8.00 and ut was worth it ..... it works great just dont let it update.... i just wonder if i root my maxx will it still run

I'm not sure which app you're talking about...PDANet works fine on my rooted RM.
