download issue

My browser seems to have an issue accessing things after I download them, it tells me file can not be viewed from here file:///sdcard/download/xxxxxx
I've tried clearing cache but still no go.

what kind of files are they, it may just not be able to open them for your viewing

You don't have it connected to your computer via USB when it does this do you? When it's mounted to a computer the phone can't access the SD card.

They are a mixture of pdf doc and apk that I KNOW opened before hand, and no it isn't connected to the computer, it downloads into the download folder and can be accessed
from astro but when I try to access it from notification bar or download menu in the browser I get this error.

Have you tried the basic stuff; reboot, remove/reinsert the SD (or unmount/mount from settings), safe mode?

Safe mode will at least give you an idea if its an app that causing the trouble.
