Does Google Chrome eat a lot of data?

I noticed that Default browser eats up a lot more data than I'd like it to, so I switched to Opera Mini, which is absolutely amazing in how it takes up next to no data..however Opera Mini is pretty terrible. Is there some in between ground with Chrome?

With everything stated here it could be a combo of all of these. 2gb eaten by a web browser is insane unless you literally have been using it since you got your phone and haven't put it down.

Yup, Chrome is also data heavy app.

Chrome IS a memory hog, both on the phone and on the PC, however as xeene says it syncs all devices together and makes surfing from PC to phone a seamless operation using Chrome to Phone.

It is by far the most dynamic, but still isn't 100% compatible with IE (and probably never will). I do prefer it over the others mentioned.

I love Chrome as some people pointed out. I did use Dolphin Browser for awhile and that seemed to work ok as well. You can try giving that a shot!
