I am curious if I freeze an app with Titanium Backup (such as SPB 3D Shell) would it still receive updates as they are released? Is there a problem with installing them if the app is frozen or should I defrost first?

They wont get updated because they wont show up as installed in the market, but you can update them when you defrost them

Also, if they are frozen and you reinstall them from the market, they will show up in the app drawer but won't launch until you *defrost them.

Interesting....thank you guys very much. I have been wondering about this for a while as I have quite a few frozen that I am not using but would like to keep up to date just in case I change my mind one day.

Actually you can make frozen apps show up in the market, if memory serves me right, so they can be updated. Just dig through the settings for Titanium Backup.
