Disappearing icons

When I move certain apps to the SD card, they icon disappears. If I touch where the icon used to be, the app opens. When I list apps to reset it, it is not listed in the app list. I have to move the app back onto the phone.

Can someone tell me what I can do to have the app on the SD card but the icon on one of my desktops
