Disable Ads in Gingerbread ROM ..

I have flashed three Gingerbread ROMs so far to my D2, some of which say they have ads disabled (Libery), and Zombie and Apex don't specify. Anywho, does anyone know how to disable ads in Gingerbread? The disable ads options in Root Tools/Libery Toolbox/etc. do not work for disabling ads. Anyone have any ideas?

Yea just download the hosts file that was created to block ads I'll link u to it later since I'm on my phone but I'm sure u can find it with a little googling and then using root explorer just drop it at /system/etc after deleting the already existing hosts file

I used AdFree for a long time to get rid of ads. It works for the most part now, but I still get an occasional ad so it's not perfect in GB.

Got it .. just followed this little blurb here .. James is Bored - AdBlock Hosts File for Droid .. and all ads are gone
