Deleting email from my verizon.net account

Hi everyone,
When I check my verizon.net email using the email app pre installed on my droid xand delete the message after I read it, it only gets deleted from my phone. I still need to either log in to myverizon or outlook to have the emails permanently deleted.
Is there some way to have it permanently removed via my droid x. Another app maybe, change settings, I am open to any and all suggestions.

Open your email app, tap menu>settings>delete from server after reading (or similar verbiage). Problem solved

Thank you but that is not an option/setting with the droid x email app.
