Mine automatically switched when I put mine in. Our had it in. Samsung's usually pop open a window when it detects the card

Johnny, I think you're right from my recollection and I thought it was quite stupid that it defaulted to the internal SD card.

Wonder if it matters of the phone is on. I've always put mine in when the phone is off & never got a popup, but it makes sense that it might ask you if the phone is on when you put it in.

It is a "one time" toast that opens when you open the camera app.
