Ya the d2 dx and d2g have a lot more limitations due to how locked down they are. Give it time and a few devs may get their hands on the d2g and start developing roms. To my knowledge there are currently only about three devs for the d2 which has been out since august so its basically a waiting game.
God I wish they would. I've been on a quest for weeks to get Arabic characters to link on my phone, and up until I realized that the D2G wasn't supported, Cyanogenmod seemed like my best hope.
Cyanogen will probably not ever release a ROM to phones with locked bootloaders, the main reason being that they generally have a small set of Cyanogen roms for every phone model to use, and swapping out the stock kernel for one that supports CM7 is an absolute must.
I thought my 1000th post would be more interesting biggrin
Cyanogen I the best ROM ever
If you guy want it as much as I do, you need to go to the "Cyanogenmod team" web site and vote for this ROM Motorola Droid 2 Global - CyanogenMod Forum
They'll make it if people need it! At least I hope they'll do...
feld52, repeating.
Cyanogenmod runs on a custom kernel.
You cannot install a custom kernel on a phone with a locked bootloader.
Unlock the bootloader, then come again.
regardless of how old it is, it still stands. the cyanogenmod will not work on something with a locked bootloader, i frequent their forums and have seen this said many times by the mods and devs, the only way we will get cyanogenmod is if the bootloader gets cracked or unlocked.
Look up fenom. Im running it and its pretty quick. Angels rom just boot lapsed me repeatedly. Liberty supposedly runs on the d2g if you flash git r done's rommer but my camera and gps were screwed up with it. Prolly just have a jacked up phone.
