Ok, noob question time dancedroid

So i played around with Bootstrap and Safestrap (one at a time of course) and hence play around with ClockWorkMod. I check out all the options and I stumbled upon an error...

I can't mount /sdcard. note i have not inserted any external SD card. it always come back with an error. For example, if i go to 'install zip from sdcard' it came with an error, can't mount. if i go to the mount menu and manually mount sdcard, it came back with error too. so what is mount /sdcard? external or internal?

funny thing is, i did a backup and it asks, Internal or External? I chose Internal and it backs it up just fine in the path: /sdcard/safestrap.

so what happen if i put in an external sdcard and mount it? it becomes.... /sdcard2? or replace /sdcard?

where does CWM sees the /sdcard path? what do i do when i want to flash another from with CWM? put it in /sdcard? which 1? internal or external? which 1 doesnt give me an error?

thanks for ur time, gentlemen :) (and ladies!)

/sdcard is internal media area
/sdcard-ext is external removable card

It shouldn't be mounted. That is for USB transfers.
