Custom Text Notification

Is there a way to use a specific sound for texts coming from one specific phone number? I tried to do it myself but it doesn't look like I can. Thanks for any advice!

theres custom messaging apps (handcent, go sms, etc.)

just change the notification settings, should be able to change the sound there.

if you use a 3rd party app, then change it through there, but don't forget to disable the stock messaging app so you don't get duplicates

Depends on the stock app. Not all allow for assigning custom notifications to specific contacts.
