Contacts Storage FC Issue

New Member
When I try to view a contact in my contacts list or tap on a contact's picture to bring up the contact slider bar, it force closes. Recently got a RAZR and rooted it immediately. However, I did run a backup with Titanium before removing anything. I got rid of Orkut Authenticator and Yahoo Contacts and I think this may be causing the issue. Haven't gone as far as logcat to check what pops up when the error occurs.
Does anyone by chance have the apk's handy to reinstall these? Perhaps other advice to fix this?
Sorry if this is a bit confusing or if you need more info.

Quick update, I managed to get the Yahoo contacts apk/odex from another board/user, but I am still experiencing this issue. I did also uninstall the following:
 • Blockbuster
 • Books
 • GoToMeeting
 • Guided Tours
 • IM & IM Presence
 • Let's Golf
 • Madden NFL 12
 • Mobile Hotspot
 • MOTOACTV
 • My Verizon Mobile
 • NFL Mobile
 • Orkut Authenticator
 • Slacker
 • V Cast Tones
 • Verizon Video
 • Videosurf
 • Yahoo Calendar Service
 • Yahoo Contacts
 • Yahoo! Mail Authenticator
** possible further causes **
** reinstalled **

edit:
I dug through xda and found a freeze list of what's safe and what's not. However I think my problem lies in the fact that I uninstalled blur_yahoo.apk and then just copied the file back to replace it and did not reinstall. Is there any way around this either with adb/shell or otherwise?

edit 2: I just used adb to push the files to /system/app, reset permissions to the proper setting(s), and all that good stuff.

Sorry if this is overkill, mods.

I just did this and things are still broken. I also did a Factory Reset before the FixContacts from xda and nothing. Perhaps I am missing something?

I'm updating with a non-update as the issue still hasn't been resolved as of yet. Other people have mentioned that there is a rogue Google+ apk floating around that is causing the same issue and uninstalling it and reinstalling from the Market resolves it. This is not the case here and I am still up **** creek. :(

If you ran a back up of yahoo prior to deleting just reinstall. Yahoo and other authenticators affect your phone so don't delete or mess with authenticators or yahoo. These are Google phones but yahoo is tied in somehow.

I am having the same issue as original poster, I also used TiBu Pro to backup then uninstall the yahoo authenticator and a handful of other apps. TiBu will not restore these apps, even thought backed up. Is there a way to get them re-installed?

2 options get a replacement phone, or you'll have to wait till a stock recovery file is released to pull the apk. It happened to me on my bionic but I was able to get the apk for yahoo authenticated

DroidXJoel:You said in one of the forums that you had the problem of contacts force-closing after you deleted Yahoo! Contacts, and that you were able to get the apk for yahoo authenticated. How did you do that?

Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

SJT

Honestly I can't remember. But on my bionic I was flashing ROMs. What you should is just download the fast boot files and flash your stock ROM and start from scratch and font delete anything. If anything download safe strap and leave your non safe alone completely and run a back up and play in safe mode.

Alright. So I'm not exactly a noob, but I'm not a pro, either. I've flashed ROMs onto my old phone, but I'm not entirely clear on what you're suggesting that I do here. What are fast boot files/where do I get them, and where do I get a stock ROM? I'm happy to start from scratch (in fact, at this point, I'd kind of prefer it).

Go to rootzwiki > Motorola>Razr>stickies and you get the files and drivers that you need

Please Help!!!

I rooted my RAZR last night and yes, deleted all of my Yahoo stuff. Now I cant get any of my contacts as you all know. Can someone PLEASE help me with step by step instructions? Im not an expert by any means but I am a little more advanced than a lot of people. A lot of times I figure out issues while on the phone with tech support before they do! I want to learn more and more. I want to work my Droid as much as possible. I jailbroke my iPhone when I had one and never had any problems so I figured Id be safe rooting. Obviously I was wrong. Can someone please help me?
