Contact pictures and syncing from Facebook

Hey, I have a question on using facebook to sync your contact pictures.. uh when do they actually update to represent the new default on facebook? I tried searching google and I couldn't find a good answer.
I just wanted to know bc I have a few contacts whose contact pictures that are out of date. Or if I can push it to update myself?
