Connecting to WiFi Tether

So my rooted Droid hosts hotshot for me using "Wifi Tether" from the market and my tablet won't read it!
Currently using my:
Motorola Xoom [x]
Motorola Droid [ ]
Using Tapatalk

Root the xoom so it will recognize ad -hoc network. Did it to my xoom and charge, no flying wireless on 4g.

OK but another question, how do u backup data from apps without root? Even though SD card doesn't work, I can use online backup or dropbox...but I just don't know how?

If the Moto Droid i already rooted, have you tried to tether thru Bluetooth? I tether thru my Droid X and Xoom with bluetooth dial up networking.

On my droid x I'm using "wireless tether" from the market. Nothing special on the xoom. Found directions on different forum thru google search. The bluetooth is strong enough to video conference on the xoom.

I am using wireless tether on my rooted Droid X with my wifi Xoom as well. Works great!

Just stay away from that Gingerbread update.

Yeah my Droid can finally do this now using open garden...but droids just heats up but its all good! Lol

Let me clarify... I use wireless tether on my rooted Droid X to access the internet on my WiFi Xoom via the WiFi on Droid X. There is no Bluetooth involved. Works fantastic.

Again, just avoid the Gingerbread update on the Droid X.

Im running wireless tether 3.0. Verizon removed the tether apps from the market. And im running liberty rom on gingerbread, so it is rooted. I believe it came from P3droids version of gingerbread.

Ah, rooted. OK, so if you don't want to run a custom ROM, then avoid the Gingerbread update as there is no root available yet. That I know of. And wireless tether needs root..

I'm using my WiFi Xoom with my D2G via Bluetooth. I don't have wireless tether turned on at all. And it works fine.
