Connect to wifi with Droid phone not on plan?

Is it possible to use an old droid to connect to wifi for surfing and apps when not connected to the verizon plan? We have an old one id like to give the kids to play on around the house.???

Yes. If you need to bypass activation at startup, swipe the four corners of the Android. Google "bypass android activation" for images of how to do this if you don't understand what I mean.

Tip: put the phone in airplane mode and get crazy battery life. Wifi still works in airplane mode.

Hmmm ok yeah I have MAC filtering on my router and there are two spots in it that look the same but for different things and I always add it to the wrong one without paying attention. LOL. Its working. Thanks guys.

As long as you're connecting to an infrastructure and not and Ad-Hoc network you should be fine.
