Connect desk dock to PC to transfer files?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if there has been any progress on the issue regarding the the desk dock not connecting to the PC to transfer files. I think it's really idiotic for this feature to not be implemented, and honestly I feel it's just a matter of some software hack to rectify the issue.

Anyone have any luck yet?

I had a spare dock so I decided to open it up, and realized the usb plug on the dock was connected to a small motherboard and modyfing that board was out of the question for me.

The solution for me was to completely remove the entire internal unit and just put a regular usb wire in it's place.

I basically shaved the rubber surrounding the tip of a regular micro USB wire and stuck it in it's place on the dock and ran the USB plug end out the back of the dock to a PC. And it worked.
