The video above is a demonstration of a very exciting Concept for the Chromecast. This is an alarm clock that will help you wake up on the right side of the bed. Not only will this wake you up, it also throws super important information to get your day going onto your TV's screen! Google Now Cards that are included are Local weather, Local Traffic, Your Stocks, and Your Appointments. There is even a snooze button so you can get those 5 more minutes that you just have to have. This is very much a concept, and is not yet readily available. Hopefully the developer will have this ready for the Play Store soon!

Add the ability to wake on LAN a smart TV and this has some traction. Not keen on leaving the TV on all night to be waiting for a signal from this thing.

Chromecast can turn on the TV by itself. See the link below, you just have to have the Chromecast powered by it's own supply, not the TV's USB port. It works on my TV, and it's not a "Smart TV". Just have to go dig through the TV menus to find it.
