Combating low on space warning

What is in the "dialer storage" app space? When looking into the space warning the dialer storage is the biggest amount used. What information would you lose if you cleared its data?

My guess would be all of your previous numbers called. Try clearing the cache first if it will let you. I can't see it deleting any of your contacts or important info.

Dialer storage holds your text messages (including any MMS).
