The app overall works fine but the quick deposit feature is horrible. I can't take a non-blurry pic of a check. Tried like ten times. Droid 1.

Same, I thought I had some good ones, they looked very clear to me.

The flash on my droid 1 is causing the blurry pictures, and I can't get the flash to turn off from the app... working great on my wife's Droid eris tho...

You can certainly cover the flash, if you think that's the problem.

I found that it worked better if I moved the camera farther away than I expected I should have it. Also, follow the instructions and center the check on a dark, non-reflective surface.

Thanks for letting us know. For me, though, I'll just stick with the mobile web site. I don't need to go that far back for information and all my deposits are direct anyway.

At least they made an app. There's a way cool helicopter at Brookstone that sends a video signal directly to you via BlueTooth and you control it by tilting the control device. The problem is that it'll only operate if you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

It took me like 30 tries to get a clear picture (Droid 1) it finally accepted the pic then it said the amount didn’t match what I entered. I tried a few more times and it finally worked but it didn’t make any of the deposit available like it does when you do it through the atm. I think they need to fix the camera part of the app, I take pics of checks I pick up for my business with Evernote and they always come out very clear.

I don't know what you guys are talkin about

the app works just fine from my droid incredible, the flash thing is solved by turning on the lights for me and I only had issues with checks that I had folded up in my wallet for a while and were all wrinkled, but I retook the pics and it was fine. I'm glad they finally made an app for us!

Wow. This is the app I've been waiting for, and my only question is how come nobody sent me a pm to notify me?j/k

I was really jealous that iPhone had this cool app and we didn't. Now if I only had a check to deposit I'd be real happy.;)

I had a friend write me a small check just so I could test the app. Freaking sweet it is. Now I am just waiting on eTrade which shoul be out this month and I've finally got all my banking on this beast.

Might be time for me to get lookout or wave secure.

Anyone know how to do more than one check in one deposit using this?

Just called Chase support and it went a little like this:

Me: I have the mobile app for my android phone and I was wondering if it was possible to deposit more than one check at a time.
Support: Is this for the Iphone?
Me: No, for my android phone.
Support: iphone?
Me: Android. Different than iphone.
Support: The mobile app is only available on iphones.
Me: I have it installed on my android phone and it works.
Support: I can assure you it is only available on iphone.
Me: I'm on the chase mobile banking site, and it's listed right there.
Long Pause
Me: Are you still there?
Support: Yes.
Long Pause
Support: Let me connect you to a specialist.

Ugh. So the specialist actually knew what was going on. Apperantly it is not possible to do more than one check at a time using this method. Too bad. I get these stupid .54 cent checks that aren't really worth a whole trip to the bank for, but the minimum deposit using the app is $1.00.

I told the specialist about what the other guy was saying and she just sighed and said, "yeah, I know...". Lol.

Just discovered today the app was available. Too bad that just yesterday I deposited a couple of checks. Oh well. Yeah the $1000/day limit kind of sucks. I suppose they are just worried about security/fraud and that's just a bit of a safety net for them.

Well, after MANY unsuccessful attempts at depositing checks with the photo feature, I give up. They need to fix this so that we can MANUALLY focus the pictures, because it NEVER gets the focus right and they all come out blurry and unaccepted. I have not been able to use this successfully one single time.

Wow, I've never had one not get accepted. Are you using the stock camera app or one out of the market? Are you running stock ROM or a custom ROM?

I, too, have been trying to get a clear enough picture that I can use Chase's Quick Deposit. My Droid has a 5 MP camera. I'm using vs 2.2.1 on the camera. I've tried fiddling with the settings in every way I can think to improve the picture.

It appears that the image is in focus, then when I click to take the picture the camera attempts to refocus again, then snaps while still blurry.

Any help, now? I'm not as tech savvy as most of you are, so please be gentle with this senior citizen (I hate that word.) :-/

Thanks

You know that it won't accept a deposit over $3,000.00? So if you make a lot of money, you are inconvenienced I guess.

I understand they probably have a security reason for this. Still it kind of spoiled my wife's fun when she went to use it.
