Changing to a Droid

My old phone, the LG Dare is all broken. My friend, after recently purchasing the Droid Incredible gave me his old Droid. I'm on a standard family plan so I was wondering if I happen to activate the number on this Droid is it going to cost me? Like a new data plan and all that jazz?

My stepsister happens to have a droid and her seperate data plan. Is there a way I could put my phone on that plan so it wouldn't cost as much?

Sorry I can't help you on that one.
I don't know much on how verizon works.

If the lg dare you speak of is not considered a smartphone, and the line on you're family share plan is not currently a data packaged line already, then you will be upgrading that line to a data package of you're choice, and not have to pay anything out of pocket. You're bill will reflect the new charges of 30.00$ plus tax if you choose the 2gig a month data package.
