Change or Hack DNS settings on 3g

So I've been noticing that DNS response on 3g many times seems very slow. I'd rather use my own DNS servers but I can't find a way to do it. I'm sure there is NOT a way to do it right now other than a hack or something somewhere that I've missed....

Again let me be clear. I know how to change DNS on the wi-fi side. Is there any way to do it on the 3g side?

I see nothing that will allow you to force the 3G connection to use a specific DNS server... Maybe there's an app out there that can intercept the phone's DNS-server calls, and re-direct them? I have no clue there...

Only thing I can think of is create a VPN to your office or home network, and use the VPN for all your web-browsing... I know the Droid can do VPN's, supposedly, but I've not set one up yet, so I'm afraid I probably won't be much help to you there...
