Carrier IQ

Is there any way to know if Carrier IQ is installed on the Droid x2, and if it is, is there a non-paid way of getting rid of it or blocking it from sending out the information it gathered

I'm not a conspiracy theorists, I'm just annoyed that they can't straight out ask people for permission.
