Can't receive text from one person

Hey I'm hoping someone can help pinpoint a problem I'm having. I have one friend that I send text to him and he receives it, and he replies and it appears it's sent, but I never receive it. I can receive pictures from him no problem. He is also using a Droid 2 VZW.

I did a factory data reset on my phone yesterday, and began receiving his texts again for a few hours, then they stopped again.

What could be going wrong?

Hey, I have had this problem once before except my buddy was on sprint with a palm phone. The only way it got fixed was with time, one day it spontaneously worked... so.. im not saying you should just wait, im just saying... well im not really saying anything am I.. sorry. But I would also be curious to hear what the issue was that does this.
