Hey everybody, I'm having trouble with PowerAmp. I love the app to death, but I can't leave the player to go do something else. Would like to be able to browse the web while listening to my podcasts, but PowerAmp always closes when running in the background. Running on the Droid 1. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

If you are running a gingerbread rom then that is probably the issue. The gingerbread roms make the onboard task manager more "agressive". it will close apps to provide more free memory. I have run a few GB roms and had the same issue but only when running for a while and also when using runtastic if i don't have that in the front then it will get stopped. PowerAMP is the best music player i have found and i wasn't willing to continue using those roms and not have it. I have now gone to a rooted stock rom and just overclocking. The only thing that i wanted from GB was the notification power widgets anyway. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I am at a loss. Are you running any kind of task killer or memory manager? Hopefully someone with a 10 lb. brain can chime in to help out.

gb's aggressive task killer may be to blame. pure guess however as I'm running a gb rom and can multitask while using poweramp. only time it shuts off on me is when a phone call comes thru. it used to auto start back up when the call ended but it no longer does.
