Can't get music to function properly!

I have a Droid2 Global that I wish to use as a music player. I would like to use a 32GB uSD card. So far I haven't been able to get the phone to consistently play music, no matter how or what I put on the original 16GB uSD or the 32GB uSD. At some point the phone locks up completely and cannot be restored without removing and re-installing the battery. I've tried just putting music files directly on the card and also by syncing with Windows Media Player. I've even had the phone replaced! STILL NO GO! HELP! HELP! HELP!
