Cant get email to work on exchange server

I've contacted my administrator and found out what to enter for the Domain/User Name and the Exchange Server, but it still doesn't work. I Just get a black screen.

what type of phone and type of mail. Gmail, hotmail ?
hotmail incoming would be
Select pop mail server
Server = pop3.live.com
Port = 995
then enter your user name and password for that account
check use secure connection and verify certificate

hotmail outgoing would be
select SMTP sever
Sever = smtp.live.com
port = 25
then enter your user name and password for that account
check verify certificate

General settings would be
Account name = HotMail
then for real name use your Hot mail email

ours is case sensitive...and for the server name, don't enter the http://...just put mail.whatevertherest is and i hooked up to mine...
