Cant get Contacts to link to Facebook?

I can't get my contacts to link to FB...to show contact pictures or anything else...
I just got this phone so I'm still learning but it seems it should be fairly obvious.
I have both the native FB account and the FB app installed.
any ideas?

If you you under your contacts, are they listed there?

You mean as "Facebook" contacts? No. I can't figure out why that is happening either.
