Cannot post into "text boxes" on certain websites using Droid Thunderbolt

Howdy Forum -

I use an HTC Droid Thunderbolt. One of the websites I frequently use has various forums just like droidforums.net, although the subject matter relates to sports issues. The forums on that site allow me to post - just as I am posting on this forum. On my desktop, I have no problem posting in "text boxes" just like the "text box" that I am typing this message in. However, when I access those forums on my Droid, I cannot post in the "text boxes" . . . for example, when I tap on the "text box", the box highlights BUT no droid keyboard pops up and I am unable to post any information ... I can type in the "subject" line but not in the "text box" . . .

I had no problem posting in "text boxes" using an earlier model droid ...

Is there some setting that I can fiddle with to fix this problem? I've seen similar issues on my desktop be solved by accessing "tools" in Internet Explorer and adding the specific websites in question under "compatability view settings" ... but I don't see how to access such a menu on the Droid.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I have the same issue. But it applies to this forum as well. I can not type into a text box. Some forums works, some don't. The box highlights when pressed, but the keyboard doesn't pop up. Stock, Swiftkey, whatever. I can't figure out why. Anyone?

Edit: the "Title" and the "Trackback" boxes work. It seems like it's just the text boxes that have embedded formatting options.

In settings, I have turned off Javascript. I can now enter text into textboxes like the "reply to thread" box on the bottom of this webpage. However, that turns off all the available formatting buttons and icons etc. Is there a javascript update or app needed to properly use text boxes? TIA for any help with this issue.
