can you create a custom keyboard?

I noticed you can create a custom keyboard on the HTC IME, so I as wondering if you can create a keyboard on the moro droid.

I did that stuff before. I even tried creating my own from that htc site. But it says the sammmeee thing. Failed make shure your sd card is mounted. And it is!.................
