Can droid1 with case fit droid2 car dock?

I need to get a car dock for my sisters droid and the reviews on the droid2 dock say you can have a case on and it still fits (I think you have to take out a insert) does anyone know if a droid1 with a case could fit the car dock for the droid2?

I'd be interested to know the answer on this, too. I've got a case on my Droid, and would love to use a "compatible" car dock.
