Camera Folder/Gallery app shows empty after 4.3 update

i recently updated my s3 to the 4.3 update, after doing so, all the pictures and videos in my camera gallery, were erased. After further searching, i found all of them in my DCIM folder, meaning they are still IN my phone, but are not in my gallery. I don't have an SD card, only internal memory. I don't know how to move them back into my original gallery, when i take new pictures they go straight into my gallery, so i don't know why the others were erased from there!

Is anyone else having this problem after updating? is there any way i can move them back into my gallery? thanks!

The Gallery isn't actually a place you put anything. It finds media and creates thumbnails. The actual files are not there. I have 2 options in order to recreate the cache. Install an app called Rescan Media and run it. Also you can go to the app manager - all and find Gallery. Tell it to clear the cache and data. At some point, (it may take a few minutes or more), it will recreate the images.
