Calendar not updating normally

Hey guys,
I know I've brought this up before, but for some reason, my google calendar does not update to the current date unless/until I reboot my phone.
I have checked all of the sync settings and ensured they are on. If I stop the sync from happening and then re enable it, then it will update, but I shouldn't need to reboot our go into those options just to see my current schedule... Should I? The scheduling app is nice but if I can't depend on it to display the current date, there's no way it can be used practically.
Anyone else have this issue?

My email app also seems to be out of commission in the same manner. Im currently running rubix 2.01 however.
