Build.prop editing

Now that we have root, anyone with some build.prop knowledge know any tweaks we can make to further improve battery/performance?

I increased the VM heap to 75m, just restarted and seems like its a little snappier. Anyone else been messing with editing the build.prop? Let us know!

Isn't there supposed to be a number after the "=" my build.prop Is like that to?

Edit: ro.wifi.channels= (26 lines down) and in the above are the only "=" that do not have something behind it. Can someone enlighten me why?

That is true, but it actually looks like this.

# BEGIN Motorola, nfjb73 23-jun-2010, IKMAIN-624
# this is for feature 33860, when phone is activated, the cdma mdn is written.
persist.radio.vzw.cdma.mdn=

should say either 1 or 0.

I also changed max evens to 100.

# This defines the max event window manager can
# handle in 1 s. We may adjust this # for performance
# reason later
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=100

Changed VM heap down to 65 and its even smoother. Between changing max evens and vm heap its took redraw away COMPLETELY. No redraw whatsoever.

Also I know benchmarks don't matter, but on the moon part the artifacts aren't as bad as before.

Are you saying ADD these lines? Most of the "ro.ril" lines aren't a part of the build.prop. Or the pm one.

Maybe someone can make a build.prop for everyone to download with all the little tweaks to it.

That would be nice, because what I've done so far I was able to change in android overclock so I knew what I was looking for. I'm not brave enough to venture much further, since I don't have much knowledge of using ADB push command to fix what I mess up. lol

Buy root explorer and edit the build.prop

That is what this thread is about. I'm doing the editing on my PC with notepad++.. Question, do you own a D3??? The properties you suggested are NOT a part of the D3 build prop, could be misleading to some people and cause some real damage..

Adding lines to the build.prop is a really bad idea. And telling people to buy something is another bad idea, "File Expert" works just fine and is free. downloading that telling it you have root, mounting the drive and editing it's permissions got it unlocked to work in any text editor.

Anyway, I made the dalvik.vm.heapsize=64m change as well to huge effect... (65 & 75 aren't natural numbers in the binary world).
Immediately changed wifi.supplicant_scan_interval= to an absurdly high number because I don't use my wi-fi (unlimited data plan) and when I do, I certainly don't have a need for it to check every 45 seconds for a network to connect to.

And lastly, for now I'm just trying different values for windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec= and seeing what will or won't work properly.

Anyone know what the battery life will do with these changes? I can only imagine it will eat what I saved by killing the built in apps that sucked.

Does anybody know what
ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone
dose?
It seems like that enables something global. Its set to 1 by default. I don't want to change anything I don't know about because who know what will happen when I try and boot up again. So any ideas?
