Broken power/lock button

I need to return my droid back to out of the box stock but I can not use power button to hold with d-pad up. I tried batery pull but non luck. I tried dmupdater 11 and it said I am rooted but did not give permission. There were no permission buttons but I have superuser permission icon in app drawer. I should have never messed with it not being familiar with the android OS. Can someone please help me. Can someone please help me?

If you are rooted, you should just boot up holding the x key.. one way to get it to boot is by turning it off (battery pull) and then plug it into the wall. the phone automatically boots when plugged into power.. once in recovery you hopefully have a stock back up
