Bricked wife's Droid 2

I was trying to flash my wife's Droid 2 to stock using this file

VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf

Which i thought was the right file.

Now I get this message

Bootloader
D2.37

Code Corrupt

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

I was following Darkonions guide on XDA developers (here)

Can this be saved?

Help !!

What operating system is your computer? And do you have the latest rsd (4.9) I Had the same problem trying to do the d2g sbf from a laptop. Tried it on a desktop and it worked.

I am on Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I am on a laptop. I had RSD lite 4.9 but all the tutorials i read suggested using 4.7 so i downgraded (and added the patch)

Is the SBF at least the right SBF?

THanks a lot. At least that puts me (and my wife and my marriage) at ease !!

I am trying the instructions you linked me to right now !!

I will post an update on how that went !!

Follow the link that jbirdvegas sent. I also read that the file that have may be corrupt. It is recoverable provided you download the file and follow the directions in the link

So i had the file, so i did a check sum on it based off what the wiki link said.

It's happening but the same thing that happened before is happening again.

It's stuck at loading RAM downloader for bootloader. Last time it was stuck at 97% and this time at 99%.

It's still plugged in, what do I do ?

Are you running rsd as an administrator? Also have you downloaded the latest drivers for the phone? When I had this problem I used an XP machine to get it to work.

Try another version of rsdlight or more complex it all else fails option run a linux live usb and use sbf_flash to flash ... it is a better flashing agent

Easy fix catch the recovery by doing battery pull then boot into recovery. When you get the error sign press the search button and wipe cache and data. Reboot and done

APologies for not answering your questions

jdjbmedina: I did run as administrator, and did install the latest drivers. Unfortunately I don't have access to a XP machine (I did run this in XP compatibility mode)

JBirdVegas: The flash happend, and it rebooted, but it's stuck in a boot loop. I have already tried a boot loop. About to try a factory reset now. Don't have access to a Linux machine either, :(

After much messing around, it's back up :D

Thanks all. This was my first time messing with the D2, I usually mess around with my DX and am kinda familiar with things on it. I actually had to google how to enter the recovery mode in this :)

Now on to rooting and custom ROMs :)

Any suggestions with the ROMs? I have Liberty GB 0.8 on my DX and like it quite a bit. I was going to go the same route on the D2 but i am willing to experiment a bit :)
