brainless newbie + sprecovery

I'm brand new to droidforums and know so little about hacking it's pathetic. I successfully installed sprecovery to my motorola droid, and now am in a reboot loop while the screen tells me to please charge phone. Where did I go wrong? I searched droidforums and found someone with the same problem, but they abandoned their post after saying they found an old thread about it. I can't find that thread (see, "brainless newbie"). Someone give me an answer, or point me to the old thread?

If memory serves me right you need to buy a charging station that you can slip the battery in to and let charge. Then stick it back in the phone once charged and you can SBF to get back to stock and then try again.
