Bought New Bionic Today!

I stopped into a Verizon "premium retail' store to see if they would have the Bionic tomorrow. The manager said UPS just dropped off several and he could sell it today. He confirmed with somebody and I have had it working for about 2 hours now.

Obviously much faster than my worn out original Droid. I live just outside a 4G area so I haven't tested it yet. It is taking some time to figure out which apps I want to download again. It is being recharged now as the battery was low to start.

I am the first kid on my block to have one!!

Just thought I'd give you a heads up . . . .

He went to an indirect reseller.
Not uncommon at all for those stores to sell stock when they get it in rather than waiting until the "official" release date.
