Bought a Droid from my friend, but SD causes reboot

I'm Droid-stupid, but i'm pretty sure this Droid is rooted.

My friend sold me his old regular Droid, its in good condition. Everything works. Only problem is that he took his SD card so he could put it into this new Droid X to keep his photos and all.

So I didn't have an SD card. But he had another one laying around and I put it in and its putting my phone into a boot loop. Over and over and over. If I take the card out it doesn't do it. He tried another SD card (his old one) and its also putting the Droid in the loop.

I have no idea how to fix this. Any ideas? I haven't tried a fresh SD yet, but I will soon.
