What I did with my BB's was to sync using DM, export from outlook to CSV, and then import them into my gmail contacts which will sync automatically with the phone when you set it up.

Only thing is to make sure when you import to google that you select all the columns you use - the first time I did it, mobile numbers wasn't selected by default.

There is a BB app called Google Sync that will allow you to sync your contacts, and calendar. When I switched from BB to Droid, I logged in to my Gmail account and created my calendar, so Google Sync will work correctly.

DM = Desktop Manager (the blackberry sync/backup/app program)
CSV = Comma Separated Values (a file format)

When you get your droid you have to setup your gmail address in it as soon as you power it up. It will pull the contacts from the "cloud".
